Multi-Level Hatha Yoga Classes!
A flow through varies postures (asana) in combination with controlled breathing (pranayama) and a conscious awareness of alignment to strengthen, lengthen and rejuvenate the body. Yoga postures, when expressed mindfully, encourage concentration, inner stillness, perseverance, patience, self-acceptance and a sense of humor; all of which benefit overall health and well-being. Modifications and variations are used to encourage students to experience the asana fully and safely.

About the teacher: Kim Butler
Kim began practicing yoga in 2000, stumbling upon a class that wasn’t even named for yoga but was being taught in that way at the YMCA. She immediately fell in love with it as it began to change her life and workout schedule. Having always been active, she found that this type of yoga really fit her lifestyle. Kim trained in Manhattan Beach, California and Miami, Florida over a course of 4 years and now has a Level 5 Certification, which she completed recently back in California. She teaches Hatha Yoga using flow series and practicing on strength, flexibility and balance. Kim began teaching in 2003 at the YMCA in downtown Norfolk and a small venue at De Paul Hospital. She is also currently teaching yoga at the Suffolk YMCA.
Kim’s goal is to help build a small yoga community and bring what she has learned and experienced to various groups of people. The class at Just For the Health of It will focus on strength, flexibility and balance, as well as creating a quiet mind. Kim wants to take you through a journey that will stick with you where ever you go.
“BE STEAFAST IN YOGA, O Arjuna. Perform your duty without attachment, remaining equal to success or failure. Such equanimity of mind is called yoga.”
